The rules
No village ban or permit for metal detecting (not in the Village Code or the official Beach Regulations). Dunes: no walking on dunes except at public or permitted accesses (Sec. 10-122). Beach equipment removed 9 p.m.-8 a.m. year-round and kept 10+ ft from turtle nests and dune vegetation (Sec. 10-165). The village is a sea turtle sanctuary (Sec. 4-480); no white light on the beach at night May 1-Oct 31 (Sec. 10-83).
