The rules
No town ban or permit for metal detecting. Digging: holes attended at all times and filled before leaving, no later than 7:00 p.m.; no hole, trench or depression over 18 inches deep or 5 feet wide (Sec. 95.06; $25 fine). Dunes: no walking, riding or driving on any dune (Sec. 95.02; $100). Sea turtle rules (Sec. 95.25). Removing historical artifacts is banned in town parks and recreation facilities (Sec. 99.11), not on the beach strand.
