No detector ban in the code, but Cobb Sec. 90-59 makes it unlawful to dig up, damage or remove landscaping or historical/cultural artifacts in a park without commissioner and parks-director approval. The department is reported to allow detecting only in some parks with a written permission letter — ask first.
