The City of Savannah Code has no metal-detecting ban, and its Parks and Playgrounds chapter (Sec. 4-4001 to 4-4004) covers only traffic, hours, motor vehicles and designated recreational property — no dig-or-remove clause. But the 22 historic squares, Forsyth Park monuments and Colonial Park Cemetery lie in a National Historic Landmark district and burial ground; Georgia law protects human graves everywhere (OCGA 31-21, 36-72), so stay off them, fill every plug and get city permission first.
