Georgia State Parks rules prohibit metal detecting and even possessing metal-detecting equipment (OCGA 12-3-10(n), 12-3-52). On top of that, the park sits INSIDE the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, whose federal rules separately prohibit using or possessing metal detectors, so it is doubly off-limits.
