The rules

Corps policy allows detecting only in listed 'approved' areas, daylight only; hand-dig holes max 4x12 inches in bare soil with all soil replaced and no vegetation disturbed; turn in identifiable or historic finds (non-ID items under 25 dollars may be kept).

Permit: Approved areas only; a Specified Acts Permit is needed for anything outside them

📞 Call ahead: 678-721-6700 (confirm the current rule before you go)

Why detect here

Designated Corps beaches and shorelines listed in the approved-areas map

Digging restricted here? A waterproof pinpointer finds a target's exact spot so you can check surface finds without cutting turf. The Garrett Pro-Pointer AT is the standard. See the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT → Detectors & gear by budget →
